NSW Stoma Ltd Stomal Therapy Nurse Scholarship
NSW Stoma Ltd is a not-for-profit, member-based organisation that aims to improve the quality of life for ostomates by providing support, representation, information and medical supplies.
NSW Stoma Ltd is endorsed as an income tax-exempt charity and a deductible gift recipient and is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC). As a charity, NSW Stoma relies heavily on the generous support of our volunteers and member donations to ensure our members continued access to the support they need to manage their stoma. This scholarship is made possible by the generous donations of our members and supporters, particularly the Penn Foundation.
With the aim of improving the quality of life of NSW ostomates, NSW Stoma Ltd will award scholarships to assist nurses with the cost of obtaining qualifications as a Stomal Therapy Nurse (STN).
The Scholarship will contribute to the costs of study for successful applicants up to a maximum of $7,500.
The intention of the scholarship is to encourage more people to train in stomal therapy nursing and support nurses undertaking relevant study.
The scholarship is open to any registered nurse, resident and practising in the State of New South Wales who has enrolled in the College of Nursing Graduate Certificate in Stomal Therapy Nursing in NSW (an Australian Association of Stomal Therapy Nurses (AASTN) recognised course).
Scholarship winners are determined by an adjudicating panel from AASTN, NSW branch. Each person needs to meet the Scholarship criteria established by AASTN and NSW Stoma Ltd.
